A series of five, 5km swims, undertaken in 5 separate locations, which must ideally include
one sea/ocean swim (IF practical ie. If you live in a landlocked country, this may be difficult but
please get clarification), aimed at para, adaptive or disabled swimmers.
-
Swimmers can undertake each swim in a wetsuit or skins.

-
There is no time limit to complete the swims, or the Para V challenge.

-
Swims must be witnessed by an observer, preferably independent but, if the swim is supported by evidence from a GPS tracker (eg Garmin), then the independence of the observer is not necessary.

-
Each swimmer is responsible for ensuring they swim in a safe manner and are suitably prepared for the endeavour.

-
Tow floats aren’t mandatory but being able to be seen by other water users is extremely important.

-
All Para V swims have to be reported to Para V with the following information included:
-
Photos of location and entry/exit from the water
-
Total time of each swim
-
Date of each swim
-
Name of observer (s)
-
Use of “What Three Words” is recommended.
-
-
Swimmers may be accompanied by other swimmers, helpers, or their support team but they cannot provide assistance with propulsion.

-
Any stroke can be used, including non-standard strokes if that is all the swimmers can manage.

-
Feeding is allowed but the swimmer cannot leave the water while doing so.
-
Flippers are not to be used unless with prior agreement of the Founder.
